The Growing With Grace Foundation

The Growing with Grace Foundation values the power of the Animal-Human Connection and utilizes various Animal Assisted Interventions to transform lives and foster the achievement of optimal wellbeing. Our mission is to support public servants, healthcare workers, veterans and members of our community in overcoming trauma and mental health challenges.

Growing with Grace has been a passion project for many years and was officially established as a 501(c)(3) Foundation in May 2025. The Executive Director and President, Miranda Shiffer, wasted no time pursuing her dream of providing Animal-Assisted Therapy after entering the world of Therapeutic Recreation in 2024.

The concept of "Growing with Grace" began as a personal mantra for Miranda, helping her navigate the trauma and grief life presented. Little did she know that those three words would become the driving force behind her work as a Recreation Therapist, fueling her passion for the Animal-Human Connection as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
